Sitting Bull College to Receive New $3.4 Million Business Center

FORT YATES, N.D. — Construction is scheduled to begin this fall on a new $3.4 million entrepreneurial center at Sitting Bull College.

The 16,000-square-foot building will serve as a business incubator, providing space for start-ups and resources for potential business owners.

New business space will be divided into six different areas, providing students with a variety of configurations to accommodate different business ventures, including insurance, sales, retail and services, such as cosmetology.

Other features will include classrooms, faculty offices and the Tribal Business Information Center .

Officials are optimistic the center will also promote economic and social growth within the college and the community.

The center is financed by the college’s $40 million capital campaign, private donations and grants from the state Office for USDA Rural Development and the U.S. Department of Education.

Sitting Bull is a 312-student tribal college that offers academic and vocational training in several areas, including business administration, early childhood education, nursing and information technology.
