Tom Fortier

Tom Fortier, AIA, LEED AP, BD+C, joins HOK’s San Francisco studio as vice president and director of science and technology. In his new role, Fortier will guide the group’s strategic initiatives while leading individual projects. Bringing 30 years of experience to the company, he has lead the design and delivery of several research facility projects. Fortier has also helped lead multi-stakeholder planning and design teams for clients such as Stanford University, the University of California and the U.S. Department of Energy. Instrumental in the Society for College and University Planning Professional Development Committee, he has been a design awards juror with SCUP, the American Institute of Architects and the Center for the Built Environment at the University of California. Fortier is the past president of the Vivian and Gordon Gilkey Center at the Portland Art Museum. He holds a bachelor’s degree in architecture from the University of Oregon and is a registered architect in California and Oregon.
