EDspaces Accepting Innovation Awards Submissions

NEW ORLEANS — The 2015 EDspaces Conference and Expo Innovation Awards competition is now accepting submissions for outstanding products for educational facilities. The Innovation Awards celebrate new products that showcase innovation, function and aesthetic advancements in the learning environment.

The 2015 EDspaces Conference and Expo will be held Oct. 28-30 in New Orleans. The Innovation Awards competition in particular is open to all EDspaces exhibitors and the deadline to apply is Monday, Oct. 9. Winners will be announced during the EDspaces General Session on Thursday, Oct. 29.

EDspaces serves as a gathering place for architects, facility planners, designers, administrators and dealers to learn about trends and experience the latest products and services to enhance student learning. It offers attendees a look at new product solutions, accredited education opportunities, facility tours and a chance to share ideas with fellow industry professionals about issues critical to high-performing schools.

Exhibitors for this year’s event include School Specialty Inc., Fleetwood Group Inc., Califone International Inc. and Excel Dryer Inc. Off-site opportunities will include visits to the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts — which integrated several historically significant cotton warehouses into its campus — and Ursuline Academy, a local school recognized for its unique curriculum and synergistic design process.

This also marks the third year that the Education Market Association (EDmarket) has partnered with the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) to recognize manufacturers for excellence in product design for the learning environment. IIDA is a Knowledge Partner for the 2015 EDspaces Conference and Expo, bringing its expertise as design leaders and innovators to the event and highlighting the importance of the interior designer in creating state-of-the-art learning spaces. Innovation Award-winning products will be featured on both the IIDA and EDmarket websites.
