Outdoor Bench

Designed by James Corner Field Operations, the Perisphere bench is a tribute to the iconic New York City park bench in the 1939 World’s Fair created by Robert Moses and Kenneth Lynch. It’s a 21st Century re-imagining of a 20th Century urban icon. Perisphere brings together the original design’s character and infuses it with new levels of functionality, ergonomic appeal, and durability. Robust and stylized, Perisphere has curved arms; when standing alone, it’s a bench for individual use—and when combined there are various compositions. A completely modular bench, Perisphere easily adapts to a variety of landscapes.
