School System Improves Multiple Programs with Updated Campus
DAYTON, Tenn. — Students at Rhea County High School will have a new state-of-the-art building for the 2013-14 school year after construction work concludes on a new 230,000-square-foot structure.
Philadelphia School District to Close 37 Schools
PHILADELPHIA — The debate over the future of the Philadelphia School District — which faces budget cuts paired with a public school system that is falling behind in providing high-quality education — continues after Superintendent William Hite announced Action Plan 1.0 in early January, moving forward with his December announcement to close 37 schools by the end of this school year. Based on current enrollment figures, this will relocate about 17,000 children.

Seminole State College of Florida President Dr. Ann E. McGee is the recipient of the 2013 James B. Greene Economic Development Award, given by the Metro Orlando Economic Development Commission (EDC) in recognition of her contribution to the economic prosperity of Central Florida. McGee has served as Seminole State’s president since 1996. Under her leadership, the college has evolved from a single-campus community college to a four-campus state college.
