In response to natural disasters, Austell, Ga.-based YKK AP America has introduced the YUW 750 XTH, a unitized wall system as part of its ProTek portfolio. The wall system is a hurricane impact-resistant system designed to use in commercial buildings, including schools, in coastal regions. YUW 750 XTH can be seamlessly configured for multi-span curtain wall applications, single-span ribbon walls and combinations that transition between curtain wall and ribbon wall. It can be specified for a fully captured appearance with visible exterior face covers, in four-sided structural silicone glazed (SSG) for an all-glass exterior, or be a combination of both for complete design flexibility. It also exceeds the most stringent energy codes on the market.
