Award-winning mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering firm Mueller Associates of Baltimore announced that Steve Gillis, PE, has been named a vice president of the firm. Gillis has been with Mueller Associates since 1988 and has managed many of the firm’s major museum, higher education and corporate design projects.
The Bilco Company introduced a new roof hatch featuring a thermally broken frame and cover designed to minimize heat transfer and the effects of condensation. The design includes an element of low conductivity between the interior and exterior surfaces to reduce temperature transfer from outside heat. The components also dampen vibration for improved acoustic performance against outside noise. Other features include 3 inches of polyisocyanurate insulation with an R-value of 18 in both the curb and cover for improved energy performance as well as a special cover gasket to minimize air leakage.
