MORROW, Ga. — The new 58,610-square-foot, $18 million Science Building at Clayton State University has reached final completion and is ready to welcome students. The new facility is intended to provide Clayton State with additional space for required laboratory classes. Construction began on the project in November 2013.
The Legend Opaque/White Acrylic HighBay lighting system by Everlast Lighting offers low glare levels and improved target efficiencies, and is an ideal addition to indoor gymnasiums and athletic facilities. The light features an integrated heat sink isolated driver compartment allowing for maximum heat transfer. The light includes die cast aluminum drive housing and aluminum or UV stabilized acrylic reflector/refractor. The housing features a black powder coat finish for corrosion resistance and heat transfer. A hook integrated into the design provides for an easy and tool-less installation.

The Bilco Company introduced a new roof hatch featuring a thermally broken frame and cover designed to minimize heat transfer and the effects of condensation. The design includes an element of low conductivity between the interior and exterior surfaces to reduce temperature transfer from outside heat. The components also dampen vibration for improved acoustic performance against outside noise. Other features include 3 inches of polyisocyanurate insulation with an R-value of 18 in both the curb and cover for improved energy performance as well as a special cover gasket to minimize air leakage.
