Dr. Sam Duncan was recently named superintendent for New Madrid County R-1 Schools in New Madrid, Mo. Duncan will officially begin his duties July 1, and is replacing Dr. Cynthia Sharp Amick who is retiring at the end of June. Duncan earned a doctorate in educational leadership from the University of Missouri — Columbia as well as specialist and master’s degrees in educational administration from Southeast Missouri State University.
