Oracle Provides Infrastructure Software

San Francisco — More than a dozen U.S. colleges and universities streamlined operations and enhanced self-service capabilities with infrastructure software and applications from Oracle, a San Francisco based software company.


A combination of the company’s PeopleSoft Enterprise products, including Campus Solutions, Financial, Ledger and Human Resources programs, were implemented at more than 13 schools to help improve service to students faculty and staff in the areas of scheduling, financial aid, recruiting and admissions, registrar, and student- and advisee-related activities.


Anderson University, a private 2,700-student university in central Indiana, is using Campus Solutions, Financial Management to help lower costs and offer increased services.


The school has launched software modules for recruiting and admissions, registrar, finance and student financials. Students and faculty members have access to self-service functions and will soon have continuous access to their personal and academic information.


The North Dakota University System, which operates 11 campuses, recently completed an upgrade to Campus Solutions 9.0.


The software program is used for several business functions including admissions, recruitment, student records and financial aid.


he upgrade is part of a joint project between the university system and North Dakota state government to replace legacy academic and state government applications with an integrated suite of software applications provided by Oracle.


City University of New York has completed the first phase of a universitywide application upgrade that will replace outdated financial, human resources and student administration systems with integrated software applications.


Ledger was installed during the first phase of the upgrade and will serve as the foundation for the university’s financial applications and allow collaboration among other departments by integrating data across the university system. The university also launched Learning Management to support training at all campus locations during the upgrade process.


Other higher education institutions that have implemented Oracle applications and software suites include University of Akron in Ohio, the Nevada System of Higher Education, the University of Arizona, in Tucson, the Universal Technical Institute Inc., in Avondale, Ariz., the University of Texas system, University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, Kamehameha Schools, in Honolulu, and the University of Phoenix.
