Frozen state funds thawed

Construction of the career/technical unit building 700 at Liberty Ranch High School is in full swing. Thanks to a thaw in frozen new school construction funds from the state, the district will now be able to pay off a $2 million bridge loan taken in December 2009 to finish the building.

Ontonagon school renovations continue

ONTONAGON – Students at Ontonagon Elementary School are spending their final days at the school this week before the year closes out and students return in the fall to an entirely new school. Progress is moving smoothly on a new wing addition to the high school, Superintendent Gray Webber said. “Construction started a little over a month ago,” Webber said.
