Students in the Hastings School District will start school early this year to leave extra time next summer for construction of an eight-classroom addition at Hastings Middle School.

With the opening of the E. Claiborne Robins Stadium around the corner, construction workers have been moving quickly toward finishing up new roadways and Queally Hall, the 37,000-square-foot addition to the Robins School of Business.

A massive $7.5 million construction project in progress at the Melrose Public Schools campus is on schedule and should be completed by opening day, if not for the Open House set for Wednesday evening, Sept. 1.
