Advance introduces its Adgility XP backpacks and Spectrum upright commercial vacuums, both of which are designed to reduce building contaminants and minimize environmental impact while cleaning, according to the company. The Carpet and Rug Institute, a nonprofit trade association, has awarded its seal of approval to Advance’s Adgility XPB model and Spectrum vacuums, both of which operate at sound levels less than 70 decibels.

School board okays facility plan

The Willits school board has approved a plan to spend $18 million of bond and grant money on the district’s facility upgrade project. The plan calls for purchase of computers for every teacher in the district, and for every student from grade 6 to the senior year of high school.

27 school districts get energy grants

OLYMPIA — Lake Chelan, Omak and Ephrata are among 27 school districts awarded a total of $27.8 million for construction projects that increase energy savings. Superintendent of Public Instruction Randy Dorn announced the awards Thursday. The money will be used to improve heating and ventilation, replace inefficient lighting and increase energy savings in buildings.
