The NYU Schack Institute of Real Estate announced that Richard Lambeck, B.S., M.S., P.E., has been appointed as Chair of the Construction Management Department. Lambeck has more than 45 years of experience in the field. He is the Clinical Associate Professor of Construction Management at the school and has served as principal of RL Project Management since 2004.

John Hopkins Alum Donates $30M for Engineering School
BALTIMORE — John C. Malone, chairman of Liberty Media Corp. and a John Hopkins alumnus, donated $30 million to the university’s Whiting School of Engineering to construct a building that allows collaborative research for systems-based approaches to some of society’s biggest problems.
The largest amount ever donated to the school, the money will go toward the construction of a 56,000-square-foot research building on the university’s Homewood campus.

ANDOVER, Mass. — Phillips Academy, a residential secondary school, earned LEED Silver certification for the renovation of its 80-year-old dining hall, Paresky Commons.
Renovated over the course of 15 months, the Academy reused and recycled more than 90 percent of all construction debris and installed several energy-saving devices.
