Easthampton High School to Open in April

EASTHAMPTON, Mass. — Easthampton High School’s 475 students will return from spring break this April and be greeted with a new $39.2 million academic facility.

Major Fundraising Campaign Aims to Aid School Construction

CONCORD, N.C. — The Cannon School in Concord recently unveiled a multimillion-dollar campaign to pay for a new art, athletic and middle school facility.

The $7 million campaign is the largest fundraising effort in Cannon School’s history. It began last year in its “quiet phase” and managed to raise $5 million.

Maryland Moves Forward in Plan to Give $1 Billion to Baltimore Schools

BALTIMORE — A plan is in action to allocate $1 billion to Baltimore schools over the next seven years in order to renovate or replace the city’s rundown facilities.

The Maryland House approved the Baltimore City Public Schools Construction and Revitalization Act of 2013 last week in a 107-30 vote. The bill, which would require the state to provide a block grant to the city’s school each year, is now heading to the Senate.

Steven R. Berlage

Newly hired Steven R. Berlage is now the president and chief operating officer at Sachse Construction. With more than 30 years of experience, Berlage joined Turner Construction Company in 1982 and was most recently vice president and general manager of the firm’s Michigan and Toronto offices.
