Los Angeles School Board Delays iPad Program Roll Out
LOS ANGELES — Plans to equip 650,000 Los Angeles Unified School District students, teachers and principals with iPads, is now delayed. The Los Angeles County School Board continues to disagree on issues such as contracts, web security and curriculum, and has voted to temporarily scale back the iPad initiative.


RICHARDSON, Texas — The University of Texas at Dallas (UT Dallas) dedicated the Edith O’Donnell Arts and Technology Building on Nov. 7, more than two years after construction began in summer 2011.
David Otterness was recently promoted to senior project manager for Willis A. Smith Construction of Sarasota, Fla. Otterness has been with the company for 11 years, and has worked on multiple large-scale education projects. As senior project manager, Otterness will now coordinate construction operations both on and off-site, and will be responsible for scheduling and budget evaluation. He is a graduate of the M.E. Rinker Sr.
