Oberlin College to Overhaul its Athletic Facilities
OBERLIN, Ohio — Thanks to an $8 million gift from the Austin E. Knowlton Foundation, Oberlin College will soon begin construction on a new, state-of-the-art athletic facility. Named for its donor, the Austin E. Knowlton Athletic Complex will offer students an array of recreational opportunities in a modern and attractive multipurpose space.


The Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District in Cypress, Texas recently named Samir Patel as the new assistant superintendent for facilities, construction and support services. Patel is a registered engineer, and was previously employed as a physical plant engineer for the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center.
SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Syracuse University law students and faculty will soon enjoy a new, state-of-the-art facility intended to revolutionize legal education. The 200,000-square-foot Dineen Hall will provide a cohesive teaching, research and learning space bringing the law program to a new level.
BROOKLYN, N.Y. — As the innovative Brooklyn Prospect Charter School continues to grow, new facilities have been developed to keep pace with expansion and demand. The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme school, along with designer Loci Architecture, recently celebrated the opening of several new learning spaces in both BPCS locations.
Dr. Robert Hasson, the long-time superintendent of MSAD 51 serving Cumberland and North Yarmouth, has been named deputy executive director of the Maine School Management Association, bringing in-depth knowledge in a range of areas, including labor relations, strategic planning and school improvement. Hasson, who in his new role also will serve as executive director of the Maine School Superintendents Association (MSSA), will take over the position in November.
