The Ingersoll Rand aptiQ multi-technology reader, designed to read proximity and smart credentials, now also reads magnetic strip cards for added security. The system reads various forms of proximity, including the MIFARE Classic touch less smart cards and the MIFARE DESFire EV1 for air interface and cryptographic method access control. With its ability to read the serial number of most 13.56 megahertz smart credentials, the system can also communicate to mobile phones, allowing users to expand and/or improve credential technologies easily.


FT. KNOX, Ky. — Construction will begin next month on Kingsolver-Pierce Elementary School, a United States Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) 21st Century Education institution. The new school will replace and consolidate two older elementary schools, and will accommodate 635 students, grades PK-5.

Kwame Foundation has named Yolonda Lankford as its new executive director. The Kwame Foundation is a nonprofit charitable organization founded by Kwame Building Group CEO and Chairman Tony Thompson, providing mentoring and scholarship opportunities for youth in underprivileged communities. Prior to joining Kwame Foundation, Lankford worked with the St. Louis Cardinals’ Cardinal Care and the Antwan Moore Memorial Scholarship fund.
