Pivoting Wall Shower
The AXIS Pivoting Wall shower features a hinge design that allows quick installation and easy maintenance since no dismantling of the unit is necessary, the company says.
By unscrewing one side of the shower panel, the unit swings away from the wall, providing access to components. Supplies run on the outside of the wall and are concealed within a vertical or horizontal shroud.
ADA-Compliant Shower Unit
Barrier-free shower unit from the Swan Corporation is designed to comply with ADA regulations and can be used in both new construction and retrofit projects. The unit is manufactured from Swanstone solid surface that can be applied directly over existing wall tile.
The shower fits a standard 30-inch by 60-inch bathtub space and is available with drains that match either left- or right-side plumbing setups. A grab bar and folding shower seat also are included, as is a separate ramp section that adjusts to different floor heights for a barrier-free entrance.
Sewage Treatment
JWC Environmental introduced an exclusive new series of immersible motors developed by Baldor. The motors are suitable for applications that are prone to intermittent flooding because they are designed to operate while exposed to air, unlike traditional submersible motors. They can also be submerged under 30 feet of water during flooding, and the company warranties that capability.
The immersible motors’ special torque characteristics make them appropriate for all JWC products.
Y Strainers
Spence Strainers International announces a line of cast iron, bronze, carbon steel, chrome molly and stainless steel Y strainers available with threaded (NPT), flanged (flat faced, raised faced and RTJ), socket weld, butt-weld and sweat end connections. The strainers are available in sizes 1/4-inch (8mm) to 16- inch (400 mm) and feature a one-piece cast body, upper and lower machined seats, drain/blow-off connections furnished with plug and stainless steel (CF8M) screens as standards.
Water Conditioning
The ATW series of water conditioners from Water Right employs a twin media tank designed to treat water in 24-hour demand applications. The ATW twin system series offers 20,000- to 300,000-grain capacities with flow rates to 40 GPM while providing iron, manganese, and pH correction.
Controls are fully adjustable and operate with choice of electronic or mechanical metered regeneration activation. The control valve features a Teflon-coated, solid brass piston and corrosive-resistant spacers and seals.
Lavatory Enclosure
The Vandal Gard Lavatory Enclosure by Zurn Plumbing Products is an alternative to insulation covers around each pipe and component. The designer-style, single-piece Vandal Gard conceals all lavatory piping, electronic faucet connections, mixing valves, trap primers, and instantaneous hot water heaters at once.
The Vandal Gard provides the proper knee and toe clearances mandated by ADA for wheelchair users, prevents pipe component tampering, and offers the aesthetics required by designers. The unit can be used in new construction or retrofit.
Laser Alignment System
The LL 160 Kesonite Super Beam Laser from Keson Industries Inc. provides precise alignment by projecting red laser lines on any surface to provide vertical alignment (plumb) and horizontal alignment (level). With six separate diodes, this laser projects both horizontal and vertical dots and lines, allowing it to act as a laser plumb bob.
Air/Dirt Separators
Spirotherm Inc. offers products for hot, chilled, and condenser water systems in colleges and universities. The Spirovent combination air/dirt separators are available through 36-inch pipe and will handle flows up to 30,500 GPM.
The patented coalescing/barrier medium eliinates both air and dirt problems quickly and efficiently, reducing the need for labor-intensive manual bleeding.
