Wight & Company, an architectural, engineering and construction firm, announced Michael J. Lubbers, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, has been promoted to the position of creative director. In 2008, Lubbers joined the firm as senior designer and now operates out of Wight’s Chicago office.
GLHN Architects & Engineers Inc. elected Brian Hagedon, AIA to the firm’s Board of Directors and as a principal. Hagedon will head architectural design at GLHN, assisting the firm’s next generation of leaders as they advance their development in Building Information Modeling. He was employed by GLHN from 1980-1992 and rejoined the firm in 2009, bringing more than 25 years of experience as an architect and electrical designer.
KBE Building Corporation, a provider of preconstruction, construction management, design-build, and general contracting services to educational markets, has promoted Mike Tighe to director of field operations. In his new role, Tighe will be based in the company’s mid-Atlantic office, which is located in Columbia, MD.

John G. Palfrey Jr., a Henry N. Ess III Professor of Law and Vice Dean for Library and Information Resources at Harvard Law School, has been named the 15th Head of School of Phillips Academy, Andover. Palfrey is a faculty co-director of the Berkman Center for Internet & Society, where he served as executive director for six years.

Representing District C, Young has been an employee of the Clark County School District for over 32 years. Her educational career spans in the Ohio, Colorado, and Nevada regions.

KBE Building Corporation named Jim Culkin the new Director of Procurement in the firm’s Connecticut office. In his new position, Culkin will be responsible for the company’s design-build work. He has been a part of the KBE team for 15 years and in the construction industry for 26 years. Culkin holds a BS in Engineering from Pennsylvania State University and was previously a project executive, overseeing multiple projects and their associated teams.
Centria hired Tom White to the firm’s Architectural Systems team as design and development leader. White comes to Centria with experience in engineering, marketing and business development and will manage technical services, as well as serve in the research and development sectors. Most recently, White served as the corporate director for Business Development at the architectural firm Burt Hill, where he developed and implemented strategic marketing plans for the company.
