N.J. School to Receive Three-Story Addition

MONTCLAIR, N.J. — The Deron School, a private day school for special needs students, is entering the construction phase of a 15,000-square-foot expansion project that will bring the 1912 building up to state standards.

Jarmel Kizel Architects & Engineers provided design and engineering services for the three-story expansion, which will increase the amount of program space available for students who cannot be accommodated by the special education programs of their local districts.

The addition will feature handicap accessibility, state-of-the-art classrooms and specialty instructional rooms for speech, occupational therapy, physical therapy and occupational training upon completion.

Deron Schools are state-approved private day programs that provide educational opportunities including academic, social and emotional support, for special needs students ages five to 21.
