Svigals + Partners, a full-service architectural firm based in New Haven, Conn., named Robert Skolozdra partner at the firm and appointed William J. Moran director of finance. Sklozdra has more than 20 years of experience with the design and construction of educational, research laboratory and shared-use facilities.
Mike Crowley, formerly of Harvard’s Green Campus initiative, is now leading the campus sustainability program at EH&H, an environmental and engineering consulting services provider based in Needham, Mass. The company is expanding its sustainability in higher education services to help colleges and universities meet their campus sustainability goals.
Cutler Associates announced the creation of a new scholastic division that will focus on integrated design and construction solutions and be led by Roderick C. Shaffert, PE, LEED AP, who was appointed vice president. The firm, based in Worcester, Mass., also promoted Michael Bass, AIA, LEED AP, to vice president of design for Cutler Design, the company’s in-house design firm. John DeVito was named director of preconstruction of the division and Tiffany Gallo was promoted to estimator.
Jonathan A. Crump, AIA, LEED AP, was appointed higher education principal at the Minneapolis office Leo A Daly, an international architectural and engineering firm. Crump has more than 24 years of experience with the architectural design and management of educational facilities.
Ken Zyga, PE, joined architectural firm Barge Waggoner Sumner and Cannon Inc. as vice president of facilities for the firm’s Nashville, Tenn., office. Zyga will focus on providing services to clients, business development, resource management, strategic planning and process enhancement.

Craig Floyd
was appointed to vice president of branch operations at Branch & Associates, a construction management, general contracting and design-build services company that works in the school market. Floyd has worked at the company since 2002.Joseph Cassata, AIA, was promoted to associate principal at Cannon Design, an international architectural, engineering and planning firm. He has more than 20 years of experience and is a member of the firm’s primary/secondary education practice.
Suppliers/Manufacturers
J.R. Clancy Inc., a manufacturer of theatrical stage equipment based in Syracuse, N.Y., hired Shannon Sullivan as technical designer and Micah Ascano as mechanical designer. Sullivan will be responsible for manual and motorized rigging projects, and Ascano will work on standard production lines.
Calypso Control Systems, a manufacturer of audio/visual equipment for classrooms, hired Ben Plewak as regional sales manager for the Northeast region of the United States. Plewak is based in the Boston office and will work with dealers, consultants and IT directors to support the design, installation and maintenance of Calypso products.
