MONTGOMERY — With time slipping away, there was still no legislation in place Monday for critical financing for school construction in BRAC-affected areas of North Alabama.

Officials at a new Ventura County charter school are looking for 150 10th-graders to become the founding class. The Architecture, Construction and Engineering Charter High School, or ACE High, will open in fall 2010. Plans call for enrolling 150 10th-graders in its first year, and those students would then become the first juniors and seniors on the campus over the following two years.
