Montgomery County Seeks Maryland Funding
ROCKVILLE, Md. — Montgomery County school officials and County Executive Isiah Leggett (D) hope to get a piece of the Maryland school construction budget pie, the same way Baltimore County officials did earlier this year.


WASHINGTON — The Booker T. Washington STEM Academy in Champaign, Ill. recently received the 2013 James D. MacConnell Award at the Council of Educational Facility Planners International (CEFPI) Annual Conference & Exposition in Indianapolis. Recognizing excellence in facility planning, the MacConnell Award is considered CEFPI’s most prestigious honor.
LAKEWOOD, Wash. — Clover Park School District (CPSD) recently opened the new Carter Lake and Hillside elementary schools in Lakewood. Both schools were built adjacent to their existing locations, which were torn down when the project was completed this past summer.
JERSEY CITY, N.J. – Hollister Construction Services (Hollister) began work on a three-story addition to the BelovED Community Charter School in Jersey City on Oct. 22. The 22,388-square-foot addition will include new classrooms, an exercise room, cafeteria and nurse’s office. New York City-based Urbahn Architects completed the design, with project management led by Robert Sander of Hollister Construction.
