Jeffrey L. Ray

Jeffrey L. Ray recently began his tenure as dean of the Kimmel School of Construction Management and Technology at Western Carolina University. Ray was previously the dean of Southern Polytechnic State University’s School of Engineering Technology and Management, where he had also served as a professor since 2007. Prior to this, Ray was an associate professor, professor, director and chair of the mechanical engineering program at Grand Valley State University’s School of Engineering. He is a member of the American Society for Engineering Education, and received both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in mechanical engineering at Tennessee Technological University. He later earned his doctorate in mechanical engineering at Vanderbilt. Ray will replace the school’s previous dean, James Zhang, who is now provost at Kettering University.
