Georgia Universities Aim to Improve Campus Safety
ATLANTA — The Atlanta-based University System of Georgia (USG) Campus Safety and Security Committee — co-chaired by Presidents Steve Dorman of Georgia College & State University and G.P. “Bud” Peterson of the Georgia Institute of Technology — published its May 19 report on the state of campus security across Georgia colleges and universities. The report outlined the USG’s plans to institute a broad safety initiative in the coming year and to provide incoming freshmen across all 30 campuses with mandatory sexual-assault training.
Maryland Education Advocates Pursue State Funding
ANAPOLIS, Md. — The Maryland State Education Association (MSEA) launched a new video and digital advertising campaign in May 2015 asking Marylanders to urge Gov. Larry Hogan to release $68 million in education funding included in the General Assembly’s passed budget.
St. Cloud Students Spearhead Intersection Improvements

Two students at North Junior High School in St. Cloud recently devised an improvement plan that would help increase safety at a busy intersection near the school — and won the approval of the St. Cloud City Council.

Passey’s past projects include the master plan for the University of Las Vegas Shadow Lane Campus, a proposed 18-acre shared health sciences campus, and the recently completed patient tower expansion and renovations to Banner Estrella Medical Center, located in Phoenix.
