Insulated Panel
SAF Metal Fabrication introduced a new item to its insulated panel product line: Factory-fabricated Insul M5000 Insulated Spandrel Pans incorporating mineral wool. Insulated Spandrel Pans are designed for energy savings in the opaque glazing areas of a building envelope. Mineral wool insulation in the spandrel pans can withstand temperatures above 2,000 degrees Fahrenheit, is moisture resistant, provides acoustical noise damping and qualifies for LEED green building credits. SAF Spandrel Pans are constructed using galvanized steel and can be custom fabricated to fit openings of various shapes and depths. Mineral wool is secured in the pans by resistance-welded pins and attached to a building’s cladding framework using standard mechanical fasteners.
