Woody Giles
Woody Giles, AICP, LEED AP, has joined DLR Group as a senior planner. He will work collaboratively with the firm’s Higher Education studio to create comprehensive planning solutions that inform key decision-making and support an institution’s mission, vision, and strategic goals.
As a campus and community planner, Giles specializes in master planning, space analysis, town and neighborhood planning, and campus engagement. From his extensive experience with both two and four-year campuses across the Southeast, Giles has gained a deep knowledge of space needs that translates to a high level of planning accuracy for clients. His approach to planning stems from a holistic viewpoint and inclusivity of all campus stakeholders. He integrates strategic visioning, space analysis, physical planning, environmentally responsive elements, transportation, and town-gown relationships into his solutions to help institutions achieve their long-term goals.
Giles is a graduate of the Planning Institute through the Society for College and University Planning, which consists of a series of three seminars focused on integrated higher education planning, complex problem solving, and physical planning processes. He currently serves on the SCUP Southern Regional Council and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners.
