Rafael Murillo, AICP, WELL AP, recently joined the Denver office of NBBJ as a Senior Campus Designer/Planner. Previously, he was a Senior Planner and Associate with SmithGroup, focused on higher education, prior to which he worked with SAR+ Architects, where he focused on mixed-use and urban environments. Earlier in his career, Murillo worked with the Seattle office of NBBJ as an Experience Designer. He has completed projects for Kansas State University, Colorado State University, the University of Texas, Idaho State University, and the University of California system. He received his master’s degree in urban planning and landscape architecture from the University of Washington.
