The four popular colors recently earned an Energy Star rating for their ability to lower roof surface temperature, decreasing the amount of heat transferred into a building and reducing air conditioning costs. It can also lower interior temperatures by 8 degrees to 12 degrees and cut peak cooling demand by 10 percent to15 percent, according to the company.
