More Than 4,000 Beds Delivered
ATLANTA-Place Properties, a student housing developer, owner and operator, developed and delivered more than 4,000 beds of Class A student housing in 2004, serving seven different campuses across the country.
The projects reflect contemporary campus environments and the expectations of students in the 21st century. Some of the company’s recent housing developments were accompanied by retail, parking decks, town halls, urban parks and pedestrian-intensive planning. Projects included:
- Knoxville Place, Knoxville, Tenn.: mixed-use high-rise apartments and town homes.
- ABAC Place, Tifton, Ga.: a campus town hall and student housing.
- University Village, Kennesaw, Ga.: a mixed-use facility with housing and classrooms.
- Christa McAuliffe Residential Community: student housing, infirmary and cyber caf&eactute;.
- Clayton Place, Morrow, Ga.: second phase of an off-campus student housing project.
- UTC Place, Chattanooga, Tenn.: third phase of an on-campus student housing project.
In other news, the company recently secured $119.7 million of senior and mezzanine financing to refinance a portion of its student- housing portfolio.
The portfolio is comprised of 13 Class A, garden-style student housing apartments representing 1,421 units and 5,390 beds. All of the properties were built after 1998 and are replete with amenities such as clubhouses, fitness centers, volleyball courts, swimming pools, barbecue stations, pool tables and tennis courts.
The properties are located at 10 universities across the southeastern United States including Clemson University, SE Missouri State University, Clayton College and State University, Georgia Southern University, Jacksonville State University, Macon State College, University of Tennessee, Martin, Murray State University, State University of West Georgia and Troy State University.
