Virco Donates Library Furniture to Tennessee Elementary school

TORRANCE, Calif.-As a follow-up to its recently announced 10-year service agreement with the National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP), Virco Inc. has donated library furniture valued at $7,500 — including products from Virco’s ergonomically supportive I.Q. and Ph.D. furniture lines, as well as a selection of 4000 Series tables – to Percy Priest Elementary School in Nashville, Tenn.

This donation to Percy Priest Elementary stems from Virco’s agreement to provide $1.5 million to continue the National Principals Resource Center’s Speakers Bureau, which grants funds to NAESP state affiliates to pay for keynote speakers for their annual meetings. Virco’s commitment was announced in April at NAESP’s annual convention in conjunction with a furniture giveaway drawing won by Percy Priest Elementary. Moreover, Virco plans to sponsor subsequent furniture giveaway drawings at upcoming NAESP annual conventions.

In other company news, Virco announced the California Integrated Waste Management Board (CIWMB) has named it a Waste Reduction Awards Program (WRAP) winner for the fourth consecutive year.

Since beginning resource recovery and recycling efforts at its Conway (Arkansas) Division facility in 1989, Virco has received awards from a variety of local, state and national organizations in recognition of its environmental achievements. Virco was honored by the United States Environmental Protection Agency in 2003 as a charter member of its WasteWise Hall of Fame.

Established in 1993 by the CIWMB, the WRAP initiative recognizes companies that have made significant progress in reducing their solid, non-hazardous waste. CIWMB is a division of the State of California’s Environmental Protection Agency.
