Elevator Emergency Phone

From Talk-A-Phone Co., an ADA-compliant hands-free emergency phone is designed to help bring a problematic area into compliance with the 15-year-old Americans with Disabilities Act.

The phones are equipped with an LED indicator for the hearing impaired and raised lettering and Braille characters for patrons with impaired vision. When an elevator patron needs assistance, he can place a call by applying minimal pressure to the metal emergency button.

The system can use regular phone lines or analog PBX, and the phone’s auto-answer feature allows security to monitor and initiate calls into the elevaltor without the patron pressing any buttons to answer.
