Automated Stage Systems

J.R. Clancy Inc. has introduced the PowerAssist system, allowing schools and theaters to automate their existing manual flying systems. Automated flying allows simple, pushbutton control of overhead scenery, lighting equipment and curtains backstage.

Automated flying systems eliminate the need to handle weights and haul on ropes, improving backstage safety. PowerAssist winches are part of the company’s “Design for Safety” initiative. This is a program to enhance safety backstage through products and facility designs that minimize risk to users, effective user warning and training, and regular inspections. The program also provides assistance to design professionals. Clancy flying systems are in use in schools, as well performing arts centers, opera houses and concert halls.
