Tandus Enters $83 million Contract with LACCD

LOS ANGELES — California ‘s Los Angeles Community College District awarded an $83 million carpeting supply contract to Tandus of Dalton, Ga., for all future renovations and new construction projects.

Tandus, a commercial floor covering company, will distribute all flooring products throughout the nine-college district during the next five years.

All bidding vendors for the contract were asked to meet a set of environmental guidelines established by the school district and its board of trustees. Requirements of considered products included: the ability to recycle the product at the end of its use; a minimum of 90 percent recyclability of all materials; no added antimicrobials; and environmentally friendly products.
