Konover Wins Fourth Vocational Contract
FARMINGTON, Conn. — Konover Construction won a $27.8 million contract to build the new Vernon E. Cleaves Vocational Center in Wallingford, Conn.
Sustained growth in enrollment and the need for dedicated classrooms, greenhouse areas, small-animal facilities and ancillary space at the vocational center, which has been housed in Lyman Hall High School since its 1958 opening, prompted the decision to construct a new agricultural-program facility to be located adjacent to the high-school campus.
The Wallingford agricultural center contract follows three other vocational-technical school construction projects awarded to Konover by the Connecticut Department of Public Works during the last year.
