International architectural design firm HOK appointed Gerry Faubert, CET, LEED AP, vice president and director of integrated design. Faubert is tasked with leading the integration of high-performance solutions into the early design of projects to achieve optimal sustainable outcomes. He will work out of the firm’s Toronto office.

Craig Louer, former assistant superintendent for the Edwardsville Community School District #7 in Edwardsville, Ill., joined Sitton Consulting Group, of Belleville, Ill., as a project executive Louer will work with school administrators and education boards to assist with construction-related decision-making.


Kaestle Boos Associates, an architectural firm specializing in school design based in Portsmouth, N.H., named Ken Costello, ASLA, principal. Costello is one of the first licensed landscape architects in New Hampshire and is also licensed in Massachusetts and Rhode Island, according to the firm.


Milo E. Riverso, Ph.D., P.E., was appointed president of STV, a New York-based architectural, engineering and construction management firm. Riverso joined STV in 2005 as senior vice president of STV Construction Inc., before he was named chief operating officer later that year.


Michelle Dremmer, LEED AP, joined the Chicago office of international design firm Perkins Eastman as an associate principal. She brings more than 20 years of experience to the position, with a specialty in interior architecture.


Gilbane Building Co., headquartered in Providence, R.I., promoted James R. Arends, AIA, LEED AP, to regional business development manager; Michael C. Brown to vice president, special projects group; and Douglas J. Lim to district manager, where he will oversee business development and operations for the company’s Midwest public market sector.


Suffolk Construction Co. Inc., of Boston, hired Yakir Siegal as head of strategic planning. In his new position, Siegal will set strategic direction and oversee the company’s human resources and development functions.


Newcomb & Boyd, a multidiscipline consulting and engineering firm based in Atlanta, hired Pamela Androff as a mechanical engineer; and Darren Draper rejoined the firm as a commissioning engineer.


HKS Inc., of Dallas, announced Doug Compton, AIA, LEED AP, and Roy Gunsolus, AIA, LEED AP, were promoted to principal.


Architectural firm SmithGroup hired Carolina E. Lopez as associate and project manager at the firm’s architectural studio in Chicago. Lopez is responsible for providing project management leadership, quality and financial performance for healthcare, science and technology projects.


HGA Inc. announced Stanley A. Pehling, Chad R. O’Donnell, Paula Verboomen and Sean Collins were appointed to associate vice president at various offices.


H20 Applied Technologies, a Boston-based energy conservation company that works in the education industry, named George R. West president of the company. West has more than 20 years of experience in the energy and performance contract markets. He previously spent 14 years at Siemens Buildings Technologies Inc. as vice president and division head of the company’s security solutions sector.


Roger Thibodeau joined the Dallas office of Control Technology and Solutions as accounting executive. The company, headquartered in St. Louis, provides turnkey design and construction services for energy efficiency.


Ann Seibert, CPSM, rejoined Durrant Group as business development manger. Seibert will work in the company’s Phoenix office developing business opportunities in the education, healthcare, justice and commercial markets.


GreenWorks Studio, a partner company of Harley Ellis Devereaux, hired Edward Dean, AIA, LEED AP, to lead its San Francisco office. Dean has 25 years of architectural design experience and 10 years of academic teaching experience.


WHR Architects, based in Houston, announced Laurie Waggener, RRT, IIDA, AAHID, joined the firm as part of its knowledge resource studio. In her new role, Waggener will be actively involved in identifying areas for research and accessing credible evidence for specific projects.


Manufacturers/Suppliers


KI, a manufacturer of school furniture and wall systems based in Green Bay, Wis., hired Richard Butrym as vice president of sales. Butrym has more than 20 years of sales and marketing experience with interiors and extensive knowledge of international, vertical and distribution markets.


Allied Building Products Corp., a supplier of roofing and other construction materials based in East Rutherford, N.J., announced that Bob Feury Jr. will succeed Michael Lynch as CEO. Feury previously served as chief operating officer of the company since 2000.


Matrix Systems, an access control and security solutions provider based in Dayton, Ohio, named Bruce Canal senior director of operations. Canal is tasked with coordinating relations between project managers and clients.
