Frozen state funds thawed

Construction of the career/technical unit building 700 at Liberty Ranch High School is in full swing. Thanks to a thaw in frozen new school construction funds from the state, the district will now be able to pay off a $2 million bridge loan taken in December 2009 to finish the building.

New alternative school to be built

The Jackson County School systems new alternative school will be built by a Tennessee-based company. Board of Education members voted at their meeting last week to award a bid for the alternative school building to P and C Construction in Chattanooga. P and C was the low bid, totaling $474,088.
