Construction crews started breaking ground this week for the last elementary school expected in the city of Keller, and one of the last campuses slated for the district.

With one week left to go before school starts, construction vehicles lined the Pine Road Elementary School parking lot Aug. 25 to put the finishing touches on the school’s $21 million expansion project.

CHESTERFIELD — It appears the new, $37 million Chesterfield Elementary School has met with another delay.

In a letter to parents this week, Donna McCormick-Miller, principal of Makefield Elementary School, said the school’s new opening day will be Tuesday, Sept. 7, instead of Sept. 1 due to the ongoing renovation and construction at the school.
