Washburn University Names Residence Hall Architects

TOPEKA, Kan. — The Washburn University Board of Regents moved even closer to breaking ground on a new 350-bed student residence on June 11 when they approved the hiring of HTK Architects of Topeka and KwK Architects of St. Louis. ANN ARBOR, Mich. — The University of Michigan is helping bring a future of networked and driver-less cars closer to reality with its soon to be completed Mobility Transformation Facility (MTF). This 32-acre vehicle test complex will open on the university’s North Campus in fall 2014. Elizabeth K. Meyer

Elizabeth K. Meyer has been appointed to a two-year term as dean of the University of Virginia School of Architecture. Meyer, the Merrill D. Peterson Professor of Landscape Architecture at the University, begins serving in the new role July 15. An internationally renowned design theorist and critic, Meyer will continue teaching during the two-year appointment, and plans to return full-time to that role at the conclusion of her term.
