Clayton State Marks Construction Milestone
MORROW, Ga. — Clayton State University (CSU), a unit of the University System of Georgia, recently celebrated the topping out of the campus’ new Science Building. Once completed, the $19.8 million energy efficient Science Building will provide the school with 64,000 square feet of new high tech instruction and research space.


The District of Columbia Society of Professional Engineers (DCSPE) recently named Lorraine Fleming Ph.D., interim dean of the Howard University College of Engineering, Architecture and Computer Sciences, its 2014 Engineer of the Year. Fleming has led numerous research and intervention initiatives to engage and retain African American talent in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) disciplines.
KOBELCO Construction Machinery USA, which produces a full range of crawler excavators, announced the appointment of Matt Csoka as national account sales manager. Csoka brings more than 10 years of experience in diverse management roles. Most recently, he served as KOBELCO’s southeastern sales representative, where he expanded KOBELCO’s distribution locations through dealer recruitment and development in the region.
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — Construction crews recently topped out the new Martin Luther King Jr. School in Cambridge, Mass. The 169,000-square-foot school has been designed to target Net Zero energy consumption, and will serve an estimated 740 students.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A dedication of the new 30,000-square-foot College of Health Sciences (CHS) building at Jacksonville University was held on Sept. 4.
Following a nationwide search, Concordia University Portland announced the addition of Jilma Meneses as chief operating officer (COO). Meneses has served as Portland State University’s chief diversity officer since 2010, serving on the president’s executive committee at the vice presidential level. She has over twenty years of administrative, legal, and business experience, including ten years at Oregon Health & Science University and eight years at Tri-Met.
