Consultants of the Crown Point, Ind.-based Van Gorp Group recently attended the Indiana Association of School Business Officials (IASBO) conference held in French Lick, Ind., May 11-13, where many attendees were pricing bullet resistant glass for their school entryways. Van Gorp Group is dedicated to protecting children and schools, but also to providing cost effective security alternatives.
Katy ISD Breaks Ground on New Elementary School
KATY, Texas — Katy Independent School District (Katy ISD) broke ground June 7 on the new Robert and Felice Bryant Elementary in Katy, Texas. When complete in fall 2017, the new $33 million facility will accommodate 1,030 students.
University at Buffalo Medical School on Track for 2017 Opening
Construction of the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University at Buffalo (UB) is on schedule for a 2017 opening.
Gregory L. Erny
Gregory L. Erny, NCARB, AIA, was recently elected first vice president/president-elect of the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB). By virtue of his election, Erny will become NCARB president in July 2017. Erny was first appointed to the Nevada Board of Architecture, Interior Design and Residential Design in 1996, serving as chair from 2011-2013.
