Edward J. Feser

After an impactful eight years at Oregon State University (OSU) as Provost and Executive Vice President, Edward J. Feser has been appointed the 34th president of Saint Louis University (SLU) in St. Louis, Mo. A nationwide search for SLU’s next president preceded Feser’s appointment when Fred P. Pestello announced plans to step down from the SLU presidency after a decade in the role. Feser’s academic leadership accomplishments include establishing the OSU Portland Center in downtown Portland and creating community partnership with local leaders to launch the development of a campus-based innovation district to support regional economic development goals. He is also a champion of research, inclusion, budgetary innovation and strategic development. Feser holds a doctorate from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, an M.R.P. from UNC and a bachelor’s degree from University of San Francisco. Feser will begin his new role on July 1, 2025.
