TEWKSBURY – Residents overwhelmingly approved the appropriation of funds for the construction of a new high school on Monday night. That is but step one in a two-step process. The matter will go before voters again this Saturday in a special ballot election.

CHESAPEAKE Firefighters have determined that a suspicious item found outside Western Branch High School this afternoon is safe. The school was on lock-down for about two hours after the item was found near a construction area outside the school, said Capt. Simone Gulisano, fire department spokesman. The lock-down was lifted just before 3:30.
