CICU and IBM Launch PC Discount Program

ALBANY, N.Y.-The Commission on Independent Colleges and Universities (CICU) and IBM announced an innovative Personal Computer Discount Program?one of the largest known in higher education to date.

The agreement with IBM will enable CICU to offer its member campuses and their students, alumni, faculty, and staff the opportunity to purchase IBM personal computers at significant savings.

Eligible participants will purchase the select models of ThinkPad notebooks, ThinkCentre desktops, ThinkVision displays, and IBM printers, through a CICU link to an ibm.com e-commerce site.

Group purchasing consolidates the purchasing power of the more than 100 independent colleges and universities in New York State to benefit individual buyers. Campuses will also share in the cost savings when making bulk purchases.

CICU represents the chief executives of New York?s 100-plus independent (private, not-for-profit) colleges and universities.
