Los Angeles USD Selects Company to Centralize Library System
MINNEAPOLIS-Sagebrush Corporation announced that it has been selected by the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) to centralize its entire school library system. The LAUSD has 750 schools serving 750,000 students and is the second largest K-12 school district in the U.S.
Sagebrush and LAUSD began implementation of the Web-based CLAS (Centralized Library Automation System) project in spring. The comprehensive LAUSD system will use the Sagebrush Accent library management system as its foundation, and incorporates the Sagebrush Pinpoint smart research tool allowing students to search multiple information resources and refine the results. The company will provide online training for all components of the system.
In addition to centralizing all LAUSD libraries, Sagebrush and its partner, Oracle Corporation, will integrate the library system with the district’s Oracle financial, student management and human resources systems. The integration will help streamline data entry throughout the district and support consistent, accurate information across all of the district’s major information systems.
