Montana Funds College Upgrades

BILLINGS, Mont.-Because many new jobs in Montana require two years of college, the state Legislature and Gov. Brian Schweitzer have approved-state bond issue for a $9 million upgrade the Montana State University-Billings College of Technology. The school may improve its metal fabrication shop and other technical programs. Maintenance projects, including upgraded elevators, heating systems and fire safety systems, will be funded by a separate $800,000 appropriation.

Major capital improvements will also occur at technical colleges in Great Falls and Helena. Bonds will also be sold to pay for construction at Montana State University in Bozeman.
