Michael Kaesler, Jitendra Kashyap and Blair E. Ripplinger joined the Irvine, Calif., office of architectural firm gkkworks in the K-12 studio. Kaesler and Kashyap were hired as senior project managers, and Ripplinger will serve as a senior associate. All three will be responsible for managing the firm’s current projects with Los Angeles Unified School District, along with other projects.


TMP Associates Inc., of Portage, Mich., promoted Rick Slone from associate to senior associate at the firm. In his new role, Slone will provide technical expertise and project management.


Michael B. Kennedy Jr. was appointed president of KAI Design & Build, a St. Louis-based design/build company that works in educational, healthcare and other markets. Kennedy’s father will remain chief executive officer of the firm.


Dewberry, a national consulting firm based in Fairfax, Va., announced several promotions. S. Allen Groover, PE, David S. Maxwell, PE, and Daniel R. Koenlgshofer, PE, were named vice president; Donald R. Burroughs, PE, was named senior associate; and Robert A. Wolff, PE, CHFM, and Charles T. Worthy Jr. were named associate.


Cannon Design, an architectural engineering and planning firm what works in the educational facilities market, promoted Daniel Green, AIA, LEED AP, to associate vice president. Green was also recently appointed national associate director of quality for Cannon, and is New York state leader for quality assurance of all project documents. He brings more than 22 years of experience in project management to his new position.

Zep Inc., a provider of cleaning and maintenance products promoted William A. Holl to chief operating officer of its eight newly formed businesses. Holl previously served as executive vice president and chief commercial officer. The company also hired Robert L. Droke II and Lisa B. Malloy as presidents of two of its new businesses. Droke will serve as president of Zep Central, with full general management responsibility of the company’s southwest and central plains markets. Malloy will serve as president of Zep Retail, where she will be responsible for managing all of the company’s retail business.

Wayne Boone was selected as the new director of sales for HydraMaster, a Mukilteo, Wash.-based supplier of carpet cleaning machines and truck mounts. Boone replaces Bill Jensen, who recently retired. Boone has been with the company for the past nine years, and has served as product manager, engineering manager and equipment designer.


J.R. Clancy Inc., a designer, manufacturer and installer of theatrical equipment, announced two new appointments and one promotion at its corporate headquarters in Syracuse, N.Y. Jennifer VanWaldick joined the firm as accounting manager and Bill Jones was hired as an estimator. Craig Eagleson, formerly a project manager with the company, was promoted to engineer.


Jacqueline K. Clark was hired by Ash Grove Cement Co., a Kansas-based cement company, to serve as director of communications and public affairs. The company produces nearly 9 million tons of cement annually for a variety of projects.


Allsteel Inc., a manufacturer of workplace furniture based in Muscatine, Iowa, hired Allison Blaue-Lennox as a business development manager. She has more than five years of sales experience and will focus on the north central region.


TOA Electronics Inc., a San Francisco-based electronics provider, announced that Joe Aquilato, northeastern region sales manager, audio products division, and Dan Shore, western region sales manager, audio products division, were awarded the certified sales professional designation as a result of successfully completing a comprehensive professional selling skills course and passing the certification examinations.


Solar Semiconductor, a producer of solar photovoltaic technology based in Sunnyvale, Calif., hired Perry G. Hayes as its chief financial officer. Hayes has more than 32 years of experience with corporate finance.


David Shaner was promoted to sales manager for North American Specialty Glass, a safety and security glazing systems manufacturer. Shaner will work at the Trumbauersville, Pa., office and will be responsible for sales and marketing for the D-FenceGlas and VigilGard lines.

Insulfoam, a manufacturer of block-molded EPS insulation, promoted Pat McGrady to president. He will be responsible for expanding the company’s market share and focus on roofing, below-grade and below-slab insulation markets and geofoam applications. The company also promoted Rich Holen to manger, strategic business development for the Tacoma, Wash., office. He will be responsible for maintaining and expanding the company’s national markets, focusing on roofing and below-grade insulation opportunities. Barbara Catlow was promoted to director of marketing communications for the Dryvit and Triarch product lines, which offer exterior insulation and finishing products. Catlow has about 25 years of experience and will be based in the West Warwich, R.I., office.


Dow Corning Corp., a manufacturer of silicone-based products, named Doug Kempf construction application engineering and technical services manager. He will be responsible for managing day-to-day technical activities for the company’s North and South American operations.


Steven Barrow joined Sutter Roofing, an industrial roofing company based in Sarasota, Fla., as director of business development.


Vicon Industries Inc., a designer and manufacturer of video surveillance systems, hired Marcus Stair as the territory manager for Northern California and parts of Nevada.


Pro-Link, a janitorial supply, marketing and buying company, hired Brian Slack as vice president of sales for the Canton, Mass., office. He will be responsible for overseeing the company’s regional managers, providing end-user training and offering seminar support.


FACILITIES


Loreen Chant was named president of Johnson & Wales University’s North Miami Campus. Chant graduated from the university and has served as vice president since 2000. She succeeds the university’s founding president Donald G. McGregor who is stepping down after nearly 40 years of service.


Spiezle Architectural Group Inc., an architectural firm based in Trenton, N.J., hired A. Stevens Krug, AIA, PE, CEM, LEED AP, as executive vice president and chief operating officer. In the newly created position, Krug will be responsible for delivery of client services and will spearhead strategic-growth initiatives.
