SmithGroup hired Carolina E. Lopez as associate and project manager at the firm’s architectural studio in Chicago. Lopez is responsible for providing project management leadership, quality and financial performance for healthcare, science and technology projects.

David O. Prada, AIA, LEED AP, joined Lemartec Engineering and Construction Corp., a Miami-based design-build engineering and construction firm, as director of project development. He will work directly with clients, providing LEED-certified project expertise, oversee all aspects of projects through the preconstruction phases and assist with new business development for the firm. Prada has more than 14 years of architectural experience, including extensive work with K-12 and higher education facilities.


CSDA Architects, of Marina Del Rey, Calif., announced the promotion of Jeffrey Fuller to principal. Fuller has extensive background in the design and construction of education projects, as well as healthcare and institutional buildings. He will be responsible for budgeting, project staffing, technical supervision and product management, and will serve as a resource for building code compliance and implementation of the firm’s projects.


Nate Bosch, of The Troyer Group Inc., a comprehensive planning, design and construction firm based in Mishawaka, Ind., received the LEED AP credential from the Green Building Certification Institute. Bosch, a landscape architect associate, will continue to work on the firm’s sustainable projects in several markets.


Architectural, engineering and planning firm Cannon Design, of Boston, named Lynne Deninger, AIA, LEED AP, associate principal. She has been with the firm since 2006, specializing in the programming, planning and design of student residence facilities. Deninger has 22 years of planning and design experience, with an emphasis on sustainable strategies, and serves as Cannon’s higher education practice leader for the New England region.


William D. Hamilton, AIA, LEED AP, also joined the firm as principal and director of quality. Hamilton will lead the firm’s quality assurance and control initiatives. He has almost 40 years of architectural experience, including higher education, justice and healthcare projects.


Efram Fuller joined construction management company Gafcon Inc., of San Diego, as director of project management. He will be responsible for project manager development, standardizing project management policies and procedures and developing a project management controls system. Fuller has more than 20 years of experience in procurement and life cycle management of large facility infrastructures.


Danis Building Construction Co., of Miamisburg, Ohio, announced the LEED accreditation of eight employees. Ed Bellman, Kevin Brown, Nick Eden, John Fisher, Jon Peters, Dustin Rohrback, Robert Schnock and Annmarie Thurnquist passed their LEED professional accreditation exams, bringing the total number of LEED AP members on staff to 17.


Kelcie Robinson and Ray Finkel, of Las Vegas-based SH Architecture, recently passed their LEED exams and received the LEED AP credential. Robinson and Finkel will work on the firm’s sustainable projects in multiple markets.


Leo A Daly appointed Michelle Frediani director of business development at the firm’s Phoenix office. In her new role, Frediani will maintain and establish client relationships in the Phoenix metropolitan area and portions of the southwestern United States.


JE Dunn, a national construction company, appointed Mike Castillo senior vice president and chief operating officer for the southwest division and Bob Maxwell senior vice president of business development and marketing. Castillo has 26 years of experience in project leadership and Maxwell has more than 10 years of project experience. Both previously worked at Rudolph & Sletten.


Nicole Hellem, associate at Indianapolis, Ind., design firm Cripe Architects + Engineers, was awarded LEED AP certification. Hellem has a Bachelor of Science degree in interior design from Ball State University.


Architecture firm Hord Coplan Macht Inc., based in Baltimore, promoted firm principal Peter Winebrenner, AIA, LEED AP, to vice president, giving him an ownership share in the company. Winebrenner’s primary focus is the planning and design of K-12 schools.


SfL+a Architects named Daniel J. Robinson, AIA, principal and director of the firm’s Charlotte, N.C., office, and H. Woodward Middleton has joined the firm as a principal architect in the Charlotte office.


WHR Architects hired Anita Picozzi Moran to join the firm’s Dallas office. She is a lecturer and published author on the design of recreation centers.


Architecture firm SHW Group, based in Austin, Texas, hired Jim Luckey, former principal of Smith Group, as director of design. Luckey, who works in the firm’s Michigan studio, has worked as lead designer on several projects across the United States.


Architecture firm Trivers Associates hired Joel Fuoss as an architect in its St. Louis office. Fuoss has eight years of experience in the architecture industry and worked for five years at Trivers as an architectural designer.


JCJ Architecture appointed Douglas B. Hyde, AIA, as director of college and university design. He will assist in the development of the firm’s new Boston office. Hyde comes to JCJ Architecture from Einhorn Yaffe Prescott, P.C., where he was a principal in charge and project director.


Merrick & Company, an architectural, engineering and construction firm based in Aurora, Colo., promoted Christopher Sherry to vice president, corporate services, where he will oversee the company’s financial services, information technology, risk management and stock programs. He previously served as operations vice president. In addition, Mark Henline, CPA, was promoted to chief financial officer and corporate treasurer.


Manufacturers


Haws Corp., a manufacturer of drinking fountains and emergency equipment headquartered in Sparks, Nev., appointed Charles A. Dowd and H. Dean McKay to its board of directors. Haws also hired William O’Keefe as corporate marketing manager.


Yoo-Jae Kim, PE, a project engineer with High Concrete Group LLC, of Denver, Pa., earned the LEED AP credential. As a LEED AP professional, Kim will assist the company in ensuring that new precast concrete projects in the education and other markets are designed sustainably.


DEHCO Inc., an Elkhart, Ind.-based manufacturer of turnkey products for the education and healthcare markets, promoted Mike D. Steele to national sales manager of the commercial division. In his new role, Steele will lead sales growth efforts, oversee national and key accounts and coordinate marketing and advertising for the division.


Ken DeMarco joined NAC Products, a supplier of self-adhering flooring products based in Akron, Ohio, as a sales representative for the company’s north eastern territory. DeMarco will manage the company’s Virginia, Maryland, District of Columbia, New York and New Jersey clients. He brings more than 27 years of experience to the position.


Lori Espinosa was appointed lead customer service support at National Coatings Corp. She will be responsible for all customer service operations at the company’s corporate office in Camarillo, Calif. The company also hired Jessica Ortiz as a customer sales and support member. In her new position, Ortiz will oversee customer service and sales support at the company’s corporate office and will work with the outside sales team.


The Bodine Co., a manufacturer of emergency lighting products, announced the appointment of John Levesque to the position of general manager. Bodine has been with the company for more than 20 years and has held several senior management positions, serving most recently as national sales manager. 


Organizations


Kris Kolluri was appointed chief executive officer of the New Jersey Schools Development Authority, in Trenton, N.J. He is replacing Scott Weiner, who stepped down at the end of 2008. Kolluri will oversee the agency’s school construction program, managing more than $3 billion in public funds and developing K-12 school infrastructure for the state.
