CHARLESTON — More than 300 local high school students are planning to attend the sixth annual Construction Trades Expo at Eastern Illinois University on Wednesday and Thursday.

TEWKSBURY – Residents put forth a clear statement at the ballot on Saturday. Voters overwhelmingly approved funding, through a Proposition 2 1/2 debt exclusion, for the construction of a new high school.

Due to new road construction at Johnson High School, parking for sporting events has been changed to accommodate visiting teams and parents.

MADISON TWP. – Construction on Madison Local Schools’ new K-12 building is more than half complete and on schedule, according to the construction company’s latest update to the school board.

Madison School District has several construction projects underway right now. Everything from demolitions, remodels, and brand new buildings.

Construction of Stapleton’s third school will begin in June and the building expected to solve overcrowding in the neighborhood’s other elementaries should open in August 2011.
